Minutes of the East Grinstead & District Quarterly Meeting

Held at Lingfield on Saturday, 8 September 2018

The meeting commenced at 5:52 pm.

The Chairman, Kate Wills, welcomed everyone to the meeting and thanked Kathryn Percival for taking the service and the Lingfield ringers for making us so welcome.

1.          Apologies for Absence

   These were received from: Richard Dyson, David Tompsett, Barbara Taylor, Andrew Brock, Chris Westwood and Oli Watson.

2.          Minutes of the Quarterly Meeting on 9 June 2018 at Coleman’s Hatch

              The minutes were read by Patrick Wills, Guild Secretary. Following two small amendments they were approved by those present and signed                 by the Chairman.

3.          Matters Arising

              Item 6 (Update of 2018 - 2019 Meeting Programme): Iain Davey said that Crawley bells would be available for the Guild AGM on 9 March   2019. Tea and business meeting would be held in the church.

              Item 7 (Central Council of Church Bell Ringers): The Chairman asked whether anyone would be prepared to act as Central Council Representative for the Guild. As there were no volunteers, Kate asked members to give some thought as to whether the Guild really needed representation on the Central Council, as all members were already represented through their county associations.

              Item 8 (Guild Clothing): The Chairman said that recently ordered items of Guild clothing had now been delivered. 

              Item 9 (GDPR): The Chairman reported that some members had not responded to her request to give consent to the continued use of their email addresses.

4.          Election of New Members

              No new members were elected.

5.          Any other Business

              None.

Members were informed that ringing could continue until 8 pm.

The meeting closed at 6.02 pm.
