14 March - ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - POSTPONED
We live in extraordinary times, with the winter storms bringing misery to communities throughout the land, and the coronavirus Covid-19 now threatening to affect all our lives.
The Guild’s Annual General Meeting was due to be held on Saturday 14 March at Turners Hill (8). When contacted by the Guild Chairman only ten members said that they would be prepared to attend, but one is now unable to do so. Nine is not a viable number for a practice, and is only half of the 18 members required for a quorum for an AGM.
It is therefore with regret that I have to tell you the the AGM (and the associated ringing, service and tea) will be postponed until a later date, hopefully 13 June. The meeting on 4 April (a week earlier than usual because of Easter, and proposed to be a joint meeting with the Tonbridge District of the Kent Association) will possibly not take place. As usual, no meeting is planned for May.
I will keep all members informed of future meetings.
Patrick Wills (Guild Secretary)
Details of the meeting programme for 2020 - 2021 will be available when the situation becomes clear
